NOTICE OF SPECIAL MEETING
Notice is hereby given that the Mantua Township Board of Trustees will hold a Special Meeting on Thursday, October 22, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at the Mantua Township Town Hall, 4122 State Route 82, Mantua, Ohio 44255.
The purpose of the meeting is to review applications and consider matters related to the potential hiring of an employee for the Mantua Township Service Department.
The Board will convene in open session and may immediately enter executive session pursuant to Ohio Revised Code Section 121.22(G)(1) to consider the appointment, employment, dismissal, discipline, promotion, demotion, or compensation of a public employee or public official.
Following executive session, the Board may reconvene in open session and may take action on matters properly brought before it, including personnel-related decisions. The Board may also address any other township business that may lawfully come before it.

This proposal is intended to address outstanding accounting issues remaining from the prior administration and to ensure the Township’s financial records are fully updated and compliant. Cybersecurity Compliance & ORC 9.64
As part of our ongoing commitment to responsible governance and public trust, the Board of Trustees is taking proactive steps to comply with a new state law—Ohio Revised Code Section 9.64—which goes into effect on September 30, 2025.
This law requires all Ohio townships to adopt a formal cybersecurity program to protect public data, systems, and services from cyber threats. It also sets clear rules for how we respond to ransomware attacks, including a requirement that no ransom can be paid unless the Board passes a resolution explaining why it’s in the public’s best interest.
The Township Trustees have prepared a resolution and are crafting a cybersecurity program that meets these requirements
The plan will include:
• Annual training for staff
• Threat detection and incident response protocols
• Coordination with state cybersecurity resources
• Transparent reporting procedures
