2026/2027contract renewal for lawn maintenance at all township-owned
properties. We are hoping you will take advantage of this pre-announcement
letter to participate in the bidding process. Below is the legal notice that will
be posted on 1/13/26 in local print media and on our Facebook page - https://www.facebook.com/MantuaTownship. You can also examine the “Lawn
Maintenance Contract” and “Legal Ad” on our website as well by visiting
www.mantuatownshipohio.gov/announcements.

PUBLIC NOTICE - Mantua Township Trustee and Organizational Meeting Date Change.
The Mantua Township Board of Trustees hereby gives notice that the yearly organizational meeting and the regular monthly trustee meeting, normally held on the first Thursday of each month at 6:00 p.m. at the Mantua Township Town Hall, will be rescheduled for January 2026.
Because the first Thursday falls on New Year’s Day, the January meetings will instead be held on Thursday, January 8, 2026, at 6:00 p.m. at The Mantua Township Town Hall.
This notice is provided in accordance with Ohio’s Open Meetings Act.

Mantua Township Board of Zoning Appeals Portage County, Ohio Mantua Township Board of Zoning Appeals will hold a public hearing on Monday, January 19, 2026 beginning at 6:30pm at the Mantua Township Hall located at the southeast corner of the intersection of St Rt 82 and Mantua Center Rd, Mantua, Ohio. The Board will hear Application for Area Variance for Timothy and Debra Lamb for property located at 11717 Frost Road (permanent parcel no 23-020-00-00-019-001). They are requesting to build a garage located in the front yard area of their lot. The Board may also discuss other business that may arise. The public is invited. Cybersecurity Compliance & ORC 9.64
As part of our ongoing commitment to responsible governance and public trust, the Board of Trustees is taking proactive steps to comply with a new state law—Ohio Revised Code Section 9.64—which goes into effect on September 30, 2025.
This law requires all Ohio townships to adopt a formal cybersecurity program to protect public data, systems, and services from cyber threats. It also sets clear rules for how we respond to ransomware attacks, including a requirement that no ransom can be paid unless the Board passes a resolution explaining why it’s in the public’s best interest.
The Township Trustees have prepared a resolution and are crafting a cybersecurity program that meets these requirements
The plan will include:
• Annual training for staff
• Threat detection and incident response protocols
• Coordination with state cybersecurity resources
• Transparent reporting procedures
We want residents to know: this is not just about compliance—it’s about protecting valuable data, services, and public trust in local government. We’ll continue to keep you informed as we implement the required safeguards.

Mantua Township Board of Zoning Appeals will hold a public hearing on Monday, November 17, 2025 beginning at 6:30pm at the Mantua Township Hall located at the southeast corner of the intersection of St Rt 82 and Mantua Center Rd, Mantua, Ohio. The Board will hear Application for Area Variance for Jason Forson for property located at 10948 Mantua Center Road (permanent parcel no 23-034-00-00-020-000). He is requesting to build an accessory building located in the front yard area of his lot. The Board may also discuss other business that may arise. The public is invited.
